Program Description

The Indigenous Mental Health & Addiction Worker program is a 1 year post-graduate certificate program intended to complement and enhance existing provincial wide Native Community Care Worker 2 year Diploma programs.

This program will fill gaps by providing advance intensive study, knowledge acquisition and practicum skills necessary to work in the Native Community Development: Mental Health & Addictions field.

This program will employ core Indigenous cultural-based therapeutic and theoretical models, Indigenous treatment/clinical applications, and mainstream treatment and clinical modalities.

The Indigenous Mental Health & Addictions program will be an intensive graduate diploma with strong emphasis on clinical applications.
